The goal for this project was to design a concept for inclusion and participation and the result became Bucket Planet. By combining personal goals in a social setting, Bucket Planet gives an opportunity to met new interesting people you would not otherwise have meet while doing something fun and achieving your personal goals. The Bucket Planet mobile application lets you explore different activities that you can add to your bucket list.
Target group: People that want to meet new people while achieving personal goals.
Problem: Meeting new people outside your existing social circle and close group of friends can be difficult and people often only associate with individuals like oneself. A lot of people often also have goals they postpone due to not having someone to share the experience with.
Solution: Bucket Planet mobile application. By combining personal goals in a social setting, Bucket Planet gives an opportunity to meet new interesting people you would not otherwise have met while doing something fun and achieving your personal goals.
The Design Process
The design process followed the Design Thinking method and to gain empathy for the users, interviews were performed with a range of different people of different ages and backgrounds. This way we found out what people are missing in their lives today – namely that it is difficult to meet new people outside of your existing social circle.
To come up with different ideas and solutions for the identified problem, different brainstorming methods took place, sketches were drawn and evaluated. A moodboard of the final concept was then created. Lo-fi and hi-fi prototypes of the mobile application were also designed to illustrate the concept and product. The final concept became Bucket Planet – a digital meeting point for people to get in contact with new friends that share the same life goals or desire to experience something new in a live social setting.
